Onyx is Amethyst's brake van and best friend. However, like most best friends, they have argued in the past. After Quartz pulled Pink apart, Onyx thought it was a big deal, while Amethyst did not. This caused them to stop talking. However, after Onyx spent a week with Lapis, he realized that he truly missed Amethyst and the two apologized to each other[1].
