| The episode begins on Halloween night. As the narrator speaks, Thomas can be seen stopping at Tidmouth Bay station, where some children in costumes can be seen on the platform.

It was Halloween night on the Island of Sodor. All the engines love Halloween. They especially love listening to spooky stories.
|
| The scene changes to Tidmouth Sheds. Thomas, Gordon, James, Percy, Nia, Rebecca, and Emily are in the sheds. Edward is sitting on the turntable. Henry, Rosie, Brady, Murdoch, Philip, and Madison can also be seen next to the sheds. Jacob, Sierra, Kira, Meg, Connor, and Jackson can all also be seen at the sheds.

They say that on Halloween, the ghost engine returns to the smelters looking for his lost whistle.

|
I've got an even spookier story than that.

|

|
Right, it's a story I heard from Rusty. One night, a long, long time ago, a little engine was returning home after a hard day’s work. It was a misty, moonlit night, much like tonight. When the engine was crossing the Old Iron Bridge, it suddenly lost control and plunged over the side into the muddy ravine below. He was never seen again. But, many a workmen will tell you that when the moon is full, they have seen the little engine trying to get home, but he never reaches the other side.

Duncan would beg to differ.

It's true. Peter Sam told me that Duncan thought he saw the ghost and got so scared that he raced back to the sheds as fast as his wheels could carry him.

I've got a story from back on the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Do tell it, Madison.

|
Well, if you insist. My old friend, Jasmine told me this one. And, it's all true. (short dramatic pause) Once, long ago, there lived a young engine named Jonathan. Jonathan was a small, red tank engine with 4 wheels. He was a kind and hardworking little engine, but was often overeager to do jobs best left to bigger and more sensible engines. One day, he was doing just that. He was trying to pull a large line of cars near the riverbanks of the Ohio. Unfortunately, the cars were much too heavy. The coupling broke and poor Jonathan fell right into the Ohio River while the cars just laughed at him. Unfortunately, as it was nearly dark, the manager decided they would have to wait until morning to pull Jonathan out of the river. Then came the scary part.

What's so scary about an engine falling in a river, other than the fact that his red paint was probably ruined?

|
Well, James, the next morning when Jasmine brought workmen and a crane to lift Jonathan back onto the rails, he was nowhere to be seen. And now, many a workmen, and Jasmine, will tell you tell you how they've seen Jonathan's ghost sitting on the riverbank, waiting to be rescued.

Alright, I think that’s enough spooky stories for tonight. We should all get some sleep. We have work to do tomorrow.

Murdoch’s right, it’s getting late. We should all go back to our sheds and get some rest. And anyways, I have to pull the Kipper soon.

|
Actually, Henry, Mr. Hatt said Benjamin and I are to take the Flying Kipper tonight to give you a break.

| Henry
|
He never told me.

| Thomas
|
Well, here he comes.
|
| Richard Hatt arrives in his car. He quickly gets out and approaches Henry.

| Richard Hatt
|
Ah, good, you're still here, Henry. You have done so well with the Flying Kipper lately that I have arranged for Brady and Benjamin to take it this evening to give you a well needed rest.
|
| Henry
|
Yes, Sir. Thank you, Sir.

| Richard Hatt
|
Brady, you best be heading to Brendam. Workmen will be loading your vans when you get there.
|
| Brady
|
Yes, Sir.
|
| Brady leaves the sheds.
|
| The scene changes to Brendam Docks. Carly and Cranky are unloading crates of fish from ship. Workmen are loading these crates into vans, which Dawn is helping shunt into place. Porter, Salty, and Big Mickey can also be seen doing other jobs. Benjamin is already there and coupled to the front of the train when Brady arrives. Soon after Brady arrives, Benjamin also arrives.
